Getting started

How is ScholarSpark different?

Most sites sell mock papers. We give a full learning path: short lessons from whatever level your child starts at, then timed papers when they’re ready. Every answer is explained for a child to read alone, so you just check progress and help where needed.

OC or Selective?

Both. You choose your child’s test when you sign up.

Can I try it first?

Yes. One full practice paper and five questions in every topic are free. No card needed.

Two children?

One account per child.

Phone, tablet or laptop?

All three work. For timed papers we suggest a laptop or iPad, like the real test.

Using it

Do I need to sit with my child?

No. They follow the daily goal, and every answer is explained. You check progress when it suits you.

How hard are the questions?

Each topic has Easy, Normal and Hard. Difficulty is set against the Department’s official practice tests.

Found a mistake in a question?

Tap “Report a problem with this question” under it. We check every report.

Papers

Does the clock stop if I close the page?

No. Like the real test, it keeps running until the part is handed in. Answers are saved as you go.

Can my child redo a paper?

Each part is sat once, like the real test. If you need a retake, contact us. It’s free.

How is a paper marked?

Each part gets a mark straight away, and a finished paper gets a total. Each shows the average and “Top N%” against other children who sat it. No names are ever shown.

Paying

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once for a year. Nothing renews by itself, and no card is kept.

What happens after a year?

Access stops. Your child’s answers and scores are kept, and buying again brings everything back.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 7 days of paying if your child has answered fewer than 20 questions since. Ask through Contact us.
